I used Photoshop v5 to edit this picture.
First, I used the quick selection tool to select just myself.
I then right clicked > copy to new layer to make myself its own layer.
I selected the background layer and went to image> adjustments > hue/saturation > changed hue to +109. This gave me the color hange of the background.
I then selected the top layer and went to image > rotation > flip horizontal.
I selected the text tool > typed in “Boston Harbor” then highlighted text to change the font style to Ravie and the size to 60pt.
Then, I used the move tool and moved the text where I wanted it on the screen.
Finally, I went to image > image size and adjusted pixels to be under 30KB.
The only thing left to do was to save as a JPEG.

At work, I mostly edit images in PowerPoint because it is quick, easy and I mostly edit images not photographs. Last week, I attended a webinar about Photoshop v5 so I decided to try out some of the tools. For instance, I had never used the quick selection tool but it was very quick and easy to use. By holding down the "alt" key, I was able to remove any additional area that was selected. For this picture, part of the plant and the railing came selected so I was able to edit them out. Editing by layer and changing the hue was very helpful and much easier than trying to edit in PowerPoint. This assignment allowed me to practice techniques I learned in the webinar and determine how I can apply them to images at work.
